Telematic Music

Telematic music is live performance via the internet by musicians in different geographic locations. Utilizing performance quality technology and very high speed internet such as Internet2, telematic music has emerged as its own medium for artistic expression. The SLM Ensemble co-directed by Mark Dresser and Sarah Weaver is the New York site for telematic music projects of the group. Since 2006 Weaver has worked closely with Dresser and collaborators at the forefront of this music, technology, and pedagogy with projects connecting to sites in Abu Dhabi, Banff, Beijing, Belfast, Florence, Jerusalem, Montreal, Nairobi, New York, Rensselaer, San Diego, Seattle, South Korea, Stanford, United Nations Headquarters in New York, and Zurich.
